Ensure that your kurta has no items like pen or safety pin attached to it. If your kurta has pockets, ensure that it is empty before you toss it in the washing machine.These items can damage your washing machine.
Before you get started, read the care instructions on the label. If the label says the garment can be machine-washed, put it in your washing machine.
Add 2 tsp. of mild detergent and run your machine on a regular cycle using cold water. Always remember to wash your whites and colored clothes separately.
Do not use the dryer as it can damage the fabric. Dry your kurtas in a shaded place, away from direct sunlight.
Adjust the setting for cottons, and iron your cotton kurtas to get rid of creases.
Instead of folding your kurtas and storing them in a shelf, use hangers to keep them free of fold lines.
